Before Sepember 2004 I had a sweet 1999 trek 950, steel frame smile

Afterwards I now have a 2003 LaPierre? 360 Hardtail

Bloody Lufthansa lost my bike in transit between Singapore and Paris on our way to tour the Loire - so I bought a new bike in Fontainbleau - Thanks to ColasNahaboo?, CrawfordCurrie?, MartinCleaver?, and of course Pammy for helping me (yes, they were all there smile )

the Trek 950 was

lost by LufthansaIt started as a fully rigid triple butted steel framed LX MTB, and then there was some serious upgrading.
  • Marzocchi Z5 100mm Air Shock
  • full XT with XTR rear
  • ChrisKing? headset, mmmmm very nice
  • Rolf Urraco wheels

the LaPierre? 360

  • see http://www.cycles-lapierre.fr/webfiles/Produits/360.htm, though they don't seem to list old models frown bought in Fontainbleau
  • XTR Disc brakes and dual shifters (was Formula B4 Pro Hydraulic Disc Brakes)
  • LX with XT rear
  • DT Swiss 240s hubs with XR4.1d rims (was XT Wheels)
  • Marzocchi MX Pro ETA Fork
  • oversize internal headset (no upgrading to ChrisKing? frown )
  • Ti Flite saddle, on a 27.2mm/350 seatpost (so i know which thomson seatpost to get smile )
  • I got Jon from Gripsport to weld a rackmount tab on the drive side so I have a fully secure rack

The Swiss Road bike

  • a Price 7005 SL Aluminium frame
  • Shimano 6600 Ultegra
  • DT-Swiss wheelset - 340 hubs, rr1.1 rims, aero spokes
  • swapped out the Saddle for a Stinger RS - seems to work for me
