We've been back in Sydney for the last 2 weeks, and boy has it been interesting.
The before day we flew home, Zurich was rainy and 14 degrees, then on the day of the flight... 30+ degrees... then 26 hours later, we land in a 14 degree Sydney day.
Quite a difference though. 14 degrees in Europe, is an outside temperature, due to the insulation and central heating of indoors, its quite nice to be outside too.
In Australia on the other hand, 14 degrees is a depressing horrible cold, as indoor is about the same temperature (very few homes have sufficient insulation).
This effect was made worse in out top floor flat, which had cooled down to the outside temperature, and took most of the week to get the walls warmer.
Thank god we missed the Winter here, we'll have time to do a little renovation before next year.
